Originally from Ireland, since 2012 Feargal Doyle has made his New York his home. After studying architecture in Dublin, and theater set design in Berlin, he spent much of his early career working in both fields, working with - amongst others - Daniel Libeskind, Robert Wilson, and Blue Raincoat Theater Company. In his approach to painting, he is guided by the intuitive embodied wisdom of the hand. His paintings depict memories of people, places and events through the lens of his own experiential understanding of the world. This intuitive style is complimentary to his past experience working in the methodical, concept driven world of architecture and is a means toward self understanding and to communicate in a more meaningful way.
